Best country golf players meet to remember Carlos Cardeza
Ángel Cabrera, Eduardo Romero, Andrés Romero, José Cóceres, and César Monasterio were some of the golf players that participate in this tribute. They remember Cardeza the best way he could be remembered: playing world class golf in Córdoba Golf Club
“It is difficult and easy to remember ‘Carlitos'. He was very special, a very nice person and an unusual golf player. He was very charismatic. Everybody loved him. He was a great promise; we knew he was going to be an excellent golf player. We will never forget him” said Córdoba Golf Club president, Manuel Tagle Jr. during the Tribute Ceremony.
On Tuesday, December 23rd, Carlos Cardeza Memorial took place in Córdoba Golf Club, to remember young golf player who died in a car accident some months ago.
To honor him, the best golf players met in Villa Allende and showed that Cardeza was outstanding as well as a beloved golf player. Participating golfers were Ángel Cabrera, Eduardo Romero, Andrés Romero, José Coceres, and Cesar Monasterio.
“I saw Cardeza playing once and when Pato told me about this tribute, I did not hesitate and came here to meet his family and his father", said Coceres.
Monasterio also declared “It is very important to be present in moments like this one, in spite of the distance".
This 18 holes Four Ball Tournament was organized by Juan Cruz Molina and Cardeza’s friend and golfer José Campra, who said that the purpose of this event is to remember “Carlitos” with people who knew him best. “I do not know if we will be able to have an event like this again, with all this excellent golf players. Pato helped us a lot to get all golf stars here and we are very happy with this", said Campra.
During price giving ceremony, Cardeza’s friends received a picture and choking back tears Molina declared: “Today's was his most important triumph. His beloved, his family and his friends are here, in his club"
The winners of the tournament were the following: Horacio Carbonetti, Horacio Carbonetti (Jr.), Juan Astini and Ángel Monguzzi, with 57 strokes. Monguzzi registered a Hole-in-one (in hole 4) and Alejandro Freire (in hole 10).
