“Pato” and “Bati” Met In an Amazing Challenge
2007 US Open Champion, Angel Cabrera, and the former Argentinean National Team goal scorer, Gabriel Batistuta, shared an afternoon of golf, chat and humor in the Córdoba Golf Club in Villa Allende.
By By PGM Management Every time “Pato” unexpectedly shows up with his golf clubs at the Córdoba Golf Club in Villa Allende, everyone wants to greet him, ask him about his last trip and watch his great hole-in-one tee, which nobody gets tired of looking at.
But on Friday 24th July, the surprise was even greater. 2007 US Open Champion got to the 1st hole tee with no other person than the former National Team goal scorer, Gabriel Batistuta.
“It’s Batistuta” whispered the few privileged who were able to see this unexpected show, with no press and no public.
Batistuta is a golf fan and being in Córdoba for the Second International Soccer Conference, he did not want to waste this opportunity to play golf with Cabrera.
The Argentinean sportsmen played with Cabrera's sons, Angel Jr. and Federico, whose skills honored their father’s name and made an impact on Batistuta, who was not able to hide his surprise.
“I’ll tee off from the same place Pato does”, said Batistuta in a joking manner when he was asked to start from the highest handicap tee.
From that moment on, it was a relaxed, private chatted high-level golf afternoon which was shared by just a few.
